Hi all ....
After attending several leadership seminars, I was kind of tired of listening same old things … leader should do this that … blah blah … But still I registered for the Dance Floor Theory – The name itself sounded interesting – and after attending it I can tell you this was the best seminar I have attended … really …
Let me ask a simple question to all of you … I know – “We hate questions!” But still be honest, how many of you think that you would like to attend a seminar and do not try to hide the sleep even once in it? Take my words - Dance Floor theory will take you to complete different world. It won’t give you time to think about sleep.
The most interesting part of it was that it was made for Student leaders. The problems students face in their surroundings and ways to resolve that were explained. I am not going to write a review about this seminar but the thing that if you are a current or future leader and if you ever get a chance – do attend it. You will never regret it.
In the seminar, Kevin (presenter) told us what to do and what not to do on the dance floor when you see somebody just sitting and not attending the dance. Let me share the same incident happened with me on the Saturday before the seminar. We had a party called Club NDSU with rocking music and beautiful crowd. But one of my friends was just sitting on the chair and looking at it. I called him once or twice; still he was not ready to come along. I tried to pull him in and threw him in the group and suddenly after 2 – 3 minutes the music seemed to dry up and everybody just left the dance floor and went to chairs.
I didn’t realize what had happened but after attending seminar I came to know the technique to take the person from chair to center of the dance floor is different. Oh I will not explain it here but now onwards I will definitely use it whenever I get a chance.
I don’t know what the word limit for the blog post is but think this is sufficient as this is my first post. I hope we will meet more often now onwards and my writing will improve …
Oh, in addition to that we have also started a Facebook group for our department and hoping participation from all the students. Let’s see how it goes. I will update you on this as time passes.
Till then Good bye, Namaste, Shabba Khair, Angyoung, sayo - nara, zai jian, auf widerzehen … (oh I am terrible in spellings).
Have a nice time and Stay Warm (you have to say it, when you are living in Fargo…)
